RPC & C1 cables: they ensure compliance with the strictest fire performance standards.
SAB France launches its range of RPC & C1 cables. But why are they essential for applications in critical environments?
In the design of a building, a tunnel or even a metro, cables must be considered in terms of fire risks. Indeed, subjected to flame and fire, a cable can be a source of danger!
For constructions exposed to the general public, cables must be tested according to the RPC ( Construction Products Regulation) or CPR (Constructions Products Regulation). This regulation obliges EU stakeholders to manufacture, distribute, prescribe and install cables complying with standard EN 50575.
Thus, the cables are evaluated according to the harmonized standard EN 50575, involving various reaction to fire, flame propagation and smoke production tests, to ensure the cables comply with the strictest safety standards.
These tests linked to the RPC are transcribed through the term “Euroclasse”. At SAB France, you will find in our range, cables with Euroclass from the basic Eca level up to the maximum level B2ca.
In addition to being RPC qualified, our cables are also evaluated according to the NF C 32-070 standard, certifying non-propagation of fire from our products.
