The Soler group opens a new subsidiary in the Vosges for the large-scale production of biocarbon
Specializing in renewable carbon, the Soler group is launching into the industrial production of biocarbon via its start-up My Vosges, located in Chavelot, in the Vosges. This site, of approximately 20 hectares, will produce 20,000 tons of biocarbon annually, targeting the decarbonization of heavy industries such as rail and maritime. My Vosges, winner of the "Première Usine" program supported by the DGE and Bpifrance, will benefit from part of the 42 million euros allocated to the selected start-ups. The biocarbon, produced by the pyrolysis of wood, is designed to replace fossil coal in the production of iron, steel and silicon. The construction of the site is expected to take between one and three years, with full production capacity reached within six to twelve months, creating between 50 and 100 jobs. A fundraising, estimated at between 50 and 100 million euros, is planned to finalize the project.
