Anti-fraud protection and optimal integration: New generation of TESK hinged safety switches
A 4th generation of TESK hinged safety switches is now available. This safety switching device is installed on the hinge side of a hinged guard. It advantageously replaces the conventional hinge, while simultaneously monitoring the position of the guard. In 1996, Schmersal introduced the first hinged safety switch on the market as a pioneer. The principle quickly imposed itself, particularly thanks to its many advantages. For example, there is no longer any need to install additional switches / actuators at the end of the movable guard and to bring electrical cables back there. The user thus benefits from an elegantly designed machine. In addition, anti-fraud protection is increased, since the state of the guard is monitored inside the switch, inaccessible to the operator. It is above all the machine manufacturers who use conventional aluminum profiles for their machine and enclosure design, who benefit from these advantages. In this new series, the switching angle of the safety contacts is adjustable over the entire working range. There are different variants with a maximum of four contacts and a version with an extended hinge is available for use on transparent plastic protectors, such as PC or PMMA. At the aesthetic level, the TESK has an attractive and compact design with a metal casing (in Zamak). This makes the new hinged safety switch the perfect solution for monitoring the position of guards installed on machines where design is important. The same applies to the double swing doors which can also be monitored with the new hinge switch.
