The alternative to ball flow meters: MASS-VIEW® mass flow meters
The MASS-VIEW® series of flowmeters are a digital alternative to ball and float flowmeters. Thanks to Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) technology, MASS-VIEW® flowmeters incorporate a bar-graph display indicating the actual gas flow, clearly visible from all angles, as well as the unit of flow, the type of gas, and totalization data. In addition to flowmeters for flow monitoring applications, regulating flowmeters are equipped with a needle valve for manual flow adjustment and some models of regulating flowmeters consist of a pressure-compensated diaphragm, eliminating the effect of variable upstream pressure. The MASS-VIEW® series resembles in its characteristics and its vertical position a classic ball flowmeter with considerable advantages. Indeed, it delivers a digital output signal and a very high precision, independently of the variations of temperature and pressure of the gas. The risk of reading error linked to the position of the ball or the float does not exist here, and its robust design (no glass parts) makes it a very safe measuring instrument. MASS-VIEW® instruments operate on the principle of direct measurement, for flow ranges from 0.2 to 500 ln/min (ln/min equals SLM at 0°C and 1 atm) This series offers standard accuracy ± 2% of reading (>50% max flow) or ±(1%RD + 0.5%FS) for flow <50% while supporting pressures up to 10 relative bar (150 psi). Power consumption is low and the fittings are made to facilitate the replacement of ball flow meters. 10 gases are pre-installed, eliminating the need to recalibrate the instrument for each gas and controlling costs. Alarm setting and selection of gases and ranges are accessed via the intuitive menu using a 4-axis navigation knob mounted on the face of the instrument. An analog output allows data acquisition of multiple parameters and gas metering on the main gas distribution networks.
