15 – Apiflor: Investment of 1.2 million euros in a new biscuit production line
Installed in the Cantal at Madic, the artisanal biscuit factory Apiflor will invest to increase its productivity in equipment that is more energy efficient by 30 to 40% compared to current ones.
A new production line, which should be operational in March 2023, will allow it to increase its production capacity by 50%, to produce more than 300 tonnes of biscuits per year.
Apiflor will thus be able to meet the growing demand from distributor brands (Leclerc, Grand Frais, Lidl, etc.).
The total amount of the investment, which includes a 500 m² extension of the workshop, amounts to 1.2 million euros.
The company develops 4 main ranges of products based on local specialties (tome and bleu d'Auvergne, blueberry cream, etc.): savory biscuits, sweet biscuits.
Thanks to the introduction of a new manufacturing technique, extrusion, the Auvergne company will soon be offering filled cakes.
