79 - La Fiée des Lois, one of the five biggest French bottlers, is adapting and innovating
New consumption habits, difficulties in sourcing materials, environmental criteria: in Prahecq in Deux-Sèvres, the “La Fiée des Lois” bottling plant is adapting and innovating to maintain its activity. With nine bottling lines, eight of which are for wine, the Prahecq bottling plant has devoted 3 lines to "bag in box" since the Covid. Adapting also means anticipating, by investing in a new production line allowing the installation of “captive corks”, which remain connected to the bottles after opening. Given the major difficulties in obtaining glass supplies, the company has also launched into PET wine bottles, polyethylene terephthalate (phthalate-free). By eye it is difficult to tell the difference with the glass bottle. In order to secure the work of employees, the factory has also built a stacker crane of 2,770 m² and 31 m high, which can store 9,200 pallets, or 55,000 bottles. This makes it possible to limit road transport to external storage facilities and to streamline production flows, but also to reinforce the safety of our forklift operators, by reducing the handling of pallets. »
