The race for hiring is launched in the nuclear industry
With at least six EPRs to be built and power plants to be extended, the French nuclear industry, which supplied more than 60% of the electricity in France in 2022, is facing immense challenges, both industrial and human. In this context, the government has asked the trade union for the nuclear industry, Gifen, to assess skills needs. The report recently submitted to Agnès Pannier-Runacher, the Minister for Energy Transition, as part of the Match program, is eloquent. It will be necessary to create at least 100,000 jobs between 2023 and 2033: engineers, boilermakers, welders, etc. "We are going to recruit at all levels, from professional baccalaureate to engineers," said the ministry. The sector expects to see the volume of work required grow by 25% over the next 10 years, in around twenty segments of operational activity.
