The Safran group is investing several million euros and recruiting
A world player in aeronautical construction, the Safran group is betting on the development of its Commercy (Meuse) plant. He will inject 6 million euros and recruit. For production but also and above all for the repair of parts. Indeed, when the COVID 19 pandemic arises, the consequences are strong in Commercy. Almost more planes in flight and little maintenance. However, the group retains its workforce in Commercy (about 450 people) because it has the idea of launching a new activity. Always with the aim of reducing costs and reducing fuel consumption, Safran is developing its composite parts repair sector. Pierrick Guillaume, director of Safran Composite explains "In 2022, we have repaired around 200 parts, by the end of the decade in 2030 we will be repairing several thousand parts or even tens of thousands." In this context, Safran also plans to hire around 100 people on its site.
