Mankenberg regulator DM 462V
Pilot-operated regulators are simple control valves that offer precise control while being easy to install and maintain. They control the pressure downstream of the valve without the need for pneumatic or electrical control elements. The DM 462V pressure reducing valve is a spring-loaded, double-seated, diaphragm-operated proportional regulator which is mainly used for hygienic applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
The diaphragm, through its PTFE protective sheet, is physiologically neutral and can be exposed to steam up to a temperature of 180°C. The valve is made of stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance. It has virtually no dead space and is suitable for CIP and SIP. The square shape allows complete emptying. The precise guide of the valve stem is arranged outside the passage chamber, so there is no abrasion in the space through which the fluid flows. The design meets the requirements of the ASME BPE standard. Standard connections are clamps according to DIN 32676, DIN 11866 series A. The spring bell with the spring module and the adjustment screw, the bottom of the body (outlet), the diaphragm and the internal elements are connected to the body by means of two shaped collars. Thus the replacement of the membrane or of the assembly of the spring module for another adjustment range is easily carried out, without the aid of special tools. This also applies to maintenance work.
Adjusting the set pressure does not modify the total height of the valve (adjustment screw not rising). The outlet pressure to be regulated is in balance with the force of the valve spring (set pressure). If the downstream pressure becomes higher than the set pressure adjusted by the adjusting screw, the regulator valve is moved towards its seat to reduce the flow. When the downstream pressure drops, the regulation section increases. When the piping is depressurized, the valve is open. Turning the adjusting screw clockwise increases the downstream pressure.
