Rembe EXKOP II

The EXKOP® II system (patent n° EP 05 59 698, certified FSA 04 ATEX 1537x and approved according to EN 15089) provides safe, economical and simple insulation of sparks and the flame front. The explosion isolation device protects interconnected equipment by high-speed closing of a quick-acting QV-II pinch valve. Triggering is achieved by a 100% reliable signal from maintenance-free 3-piece explosion panels, the Q-Rohr®-3, Q-Box-II or IR, pressure or temperature sensors. The complete system is "failsafe" due to the integration of a pressurized storage tank and a self-monitoring controller. Events are recorded on a memory disk. After a trip, the EXKOP® II system can immediately be reactivated by plant personnel. Production downtime is reduced to a minimum.

The compact construction allows installation in any location and in any mounting position. Contrary to the immense acceleration of the masses of the knife gate valves during the closing phase, the QV-II pinch valve does not require any particular support such as fixings or foundations. Thus the pipes can be designed economically and adapted to the processes. The EXKOP® II system is available from DN 80 (3'') to DN 250 (10'').
