Tamper-proof AZM201 RFID interlock
The AZM201 safety interlocking devices with integrated handle, already used on a large number of doors and guards, are now available with integrated RFID technology. The advantage: achieving the "high" coding level in accordance with the requirements of DIN ISO 14119. The interlocking now offers increased protection against the risk of fraud. In addition, the AZM201 transmits detailed diagnostics to the main control system thus enabling preventive maintenance in the sense of the Industry 4.0 concept.
The handle with integrated ergonomic actuator, which is usually mounted at handle height, makes the installation of additional systems unnecessary. The AZM201 is suitable for all standard 40 mm wide aluminum profiles and can optionally be supplemented with an emergency release, which is mounted on the inside. If required, safety hold-open systems are also available with a locking bar device which provides more stability and is particularly suitable for larger protective doors.
On the new AZM201, thanks to RFID technology, the user can choose between the three types of coding and thus define the appropriate level of protection against the risk of fraud. In the basic version, the device accepts all compatible actuators. The second version only accepts the actuator learned during the first switch-on. Finally, with the third version, this learning procedure can be repeated as often as desired. Locking the activation for a period of ten minutes prevents a short-term exchange of the actuator and thus increases the protection against tampering. The user can thus not only choose the coding version best suited to his needs, but also define the desired degree of protection. Thanks to the integration of RFID technology in the safety sensors, the "high" coding level is achieved, in accordance with ISO 14119 for individually coded versions.
The on-board electronics in the interlock allow detailed diagnosis of system status via high-visibility LEDs on the front of the unit. The AZM201 has, as an option, a serial diagnostic line with mounting of a maximum of 31 safety sensors, in series, with safety maintained. All of the diagnostic information collected is linked to a serial diagnostic gateway. All connected sensors and safety interlocking systems transmit status signals as well as warning and error messages to the PLC. From this, it is possible to send control commands to devices connected in series, for example, for unlocking a safety holding system. The advantage of this concept is not only limited to reduced wiring. In addition to sending information to the API, machine downtime is greatly reduced.
