STEUTE
Non-contact magnetic sensor for harsh environments (-60°C)
The Ex RC M20 KST magnetic sensor is resistant to temperatures down to -60°C. In sub-zero temperature applications, many users prefer non-contact sensors because, unlike electromechanical devices such as position switches, they are not at risk of jamming due to moisture and freezing .
For this highly specialized field of application, the Extreme branch of steute has developed a new series of magnetic Ex sensors . use in Ex zones 1 and 2 (gas). They are therefore suitable for environments for which steute receives many requests from customers, for example offshore sites in arctic regions or ships that circulate in these regions, in particular gas or LNG tankers. In these difficult conditions, the principle of contactless detection facilitates the sealing of enclosures and guarantees their durability: the mechanical life of these sensors exceeds one million switching cycles, while their electrical life has been evaluated. at 106 - 109 switching cycles . The material of the casing - high performance Duroplast reinforced with fiberglass - guarantees the high protection index of the magnetic sensors (IP 66 to IP 69) at negative temperatures, even after a shock test of 7 joules.

This new series is ideal for position control of dampers, valves, covers and other moving components used in the oil and gas sector (onshore and offshore), as well as in shipbuilding and ports.
Other areas of application are oil rig handling systems and position control of crane arms.
